Roy Halladay Retires

(Lake Buena Vista, FL)  --  Pitcher Roy Halladay is calling it a career.  CBS Sports reports the two-time Cy Young Award winner is signing a one-day contract with Toronto so he can retire as a Blue Jay.  The 36-year-old Halladay made just 13 starts for the Phillies last season, undergoing surgery in May to repair a partially torn rotator cuff and remove a bone spur.  He was just 4-5 with a 6.82 ERA.  Halladay went 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA in 16 big league seasons overall with Toronto and Philadelphia.  He threw a no-hitter against Cincinnati in his first postseason start with the Phillies in 2010.
